Brodally classifying AC motors are of two types:
- Synchronous motors: Synchronous motors are those motors in which* the rotation of the shaft is synchronized with the frequency of the supply current
- Asynchronous motors: These are the electrical motors whose rotor rotates at the speed lesser than the synchronous speed.
