- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or other relevant technical discipline from an accredited university as well as a minimum of 6 years of relevant work experience, or in lieu of degree 12 years of relevant experience .
- Must be physically capable to conduct field inspections and participate in project walkdowns which require the following activities: extensive walking in and around a construction site, climbing ladders, climbing scaffolding, walking on elevated platforms, walking on uneven surfaces, climbing in very small and/or confined spaces, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Possess the right to work and remain in the US without sponsorship.
- Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical, and background check which includes verification of employment and education. Must be able to obtain a Department of Energy badge for access to the Hanford Site.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience in construction and technical inspection of electrical design in areas such as installation and testing of electrical systems, lighting systems, high voltage equipment, grounding, and cable pulling activities.
- Demonstrated commitment to Environment, Safety and Health (ES&H). Demonstrated commitment to a Zero Accident safety program. Demonstrated commitment to the principles for a Strong Nuclear Safety and Quality Culture.
- Must be computer-literate in word processing, spreadsheets, and database applications.
- Must be familiar with current industry quality standards.
- Working knowledge with ASME NQA-1 1994, 2008 and Addendum 2009.
- Intermediate to advanced experience in field engineering activities of DOE and non-reactor nuclear facility EPC projects.
- Detailed knowledge of the National Electrical Code and NFPA 70E Codes.
- Understanding of electrical single line diagrams, electrical block diagrams, electrical wiring diagrams, electrical panel schedules, raceway/cabletray plan drawings, and electrical support drawings (engineered specific and generic “cookbook”).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge and experience in construction methods and processes, and safety compliance.
- Knowledge and experience in use of MicroStation to edit electrical drawings.
- Knowledge and experience in use of ETAP to perform arc-flash calculations.
- Knowledge of Bechtel’s Zero Accident Safety Program and familiar with current industry standards.
- Experience with installation of medium voltage distribution systems.
- Knowledge and experience of the ISMS guiding principles and core functions.
- Working knowledge of the history and status of the WTP High Level Waste (HLW) facility.
