The Boeing Company is looking to hire a Associate Electrical Design and Analysis Engineer (Digital and Analog Circuits and Power Supply Design) to join the Hazelwood, MO location.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Contributes to the completion of specific project milestones
  • Works under general supervision, and no instructions are needed for routine work
  • Receives general instructions for special assignments
  • Plans, executes and documents avionics circuit research and development projects
  • Makes use of and applies job practices, techniques, standards, principles, theories, and concepts
  • Provides solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity
  • Work with various customers and teams to Electronic Circuitry Design, Procure, Build, Integrate, and Test Special Test Equipment, Circuitry Design Tools, and Avionic Test Benches
  • Support root-cause analysis/troubleshooting to identify and sort actual problems from non-problems.
  • Develop and maintain detailed requirements and specifications for FPGAs (Field Programmable Gate Array) and/or SoCs (System on Chip) implemented on processing platforms
  • Provide engineering support throughout the lifecycle of the processor circuit card assembly (CCA) design, conduct trade studies and literature research to support future product designs
  • Electrical / electronics engineer for VHDL coding of Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA) and SoCs
  • Printed circuit board (PCB) Design experience and implementation of high-performance digital signal processing hardware using FPGAs (custom and COTS boards)
  • Knowledgeable of build and use of verification test benches
  • Experience with Xilinx and/or Altera devices and tools such as Xilinx Vivado and ChipScope are desired
  • Hands-on experience of circuit and programming over JTAG and bring-up in a lab environment, gathering data for technical performance measures and performing basic analysis

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. A final Post-start Secret Clearance is required.

Basic (Required) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
  • Experience communicating with internal and external customers
  • Experience with various computer software programs (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite)
  • Experience understanding and interpreting technical data and engineering drawings
  • Experience collecting, organizing, synthesizing, and analyzing data; summarizing findings; develop conclusions and recommendations from appropriate data sources

Preferred (Desired) Qualifications:

  • Experience building and using of test benches
  • Experience with Xilinx and/or Altera devices and tools such as Xilinx Vivado and ChipScope are desired
  • Experience with circuit and programming over JTAG and bring-up in a lab environment, gathering data for technical performance measures and performing basic analysis
  • Basic understanding of the following interfaces: RS-232, RS-422, RS-485, UART, PCIe, Ethernet, 1553 bus, CAN bus, AXI bus interface (xilinx specific), memory interfaces (nand flash, DDR2, DDR3)

Typical Education & Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
