In this article an expansion of Torque Formula in Electrical Motors is presented below.
The torque (T) of a motors is directly proportional to its power (P) and inversely proportional to its rotational speed or RPM (N). The mathematical formula relating torque, power, and rotational speed is:
T = (P * 60) / (2 * π * RPM)
where in above equation
- T is the torque in Newton-meters (Nm)
- P is the power in watts (W)
- RPM is the rotational speed in revolutions per minute
- π is a mathematical constant approximately equal to 3.14159
