Time based Traffic Control System

In a time-based traffic control system, each signal is allotted with a specific time slot during which it operates. This operation of time-based traffic control system is independent of the traffic. This time-based traffic control system is an example of open loop control system.

Washing Machine

The washing, rinsing and drying operations in most washing machines are time based and are independent of cleanliness, dryness, or quantity of clothes. Such washing machines are examples of open loop control systems.

Volume on Stereo System

The volume on a stereo system is adjusted manually irrespective of output volume level and is another example of open loop control system.

Electrical Clothes Dryer

In electrical clothes dryer a user sets some timer to perform operation. Once the timer is set (as an example 15 minutes), after 15 minutes the dryer will automatically stop irrespective of status of clothes inside the dryer. The dryer is an example of open loop control system.

Electric Lamp

The working of lamp depends on the switch. If switch is on the lamp will continue working. Its lighting process is not dependent on temperature of lamp, or the quantity or extent of luminance. This is also an example of open loop control system.

Bread Toaster

A bread toaster runs based on a preset timer and it will keep on working based on that timer, irrespective of the fact that breads are burnt. This is an example of open loop control system.

The working of hand dryer relies on our hands. If we keep our hands Infront of dryer, it will keep running irrespective of the fact that our hands are wet or dried.
