The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) organization is seeking an Electrical Engineering Subsystems Manager (Level K) to lead the VC-25B team located in San Antonio, TX and Tukwila, WA.

As a manager you will lead VC-25B EE Subsystems Team to complete and deliver certified developmental and modified systems (Electrical Power Generation System, Secondary Power Distribution System, and non-power EE Subsystems).  This is accomplished by supporting key suppliers and our certification, production, and operations efforts. The successful candidate will have a broad background in aircraft electrical power systems, experience as a cost account manager, works well across multiple disciplines, good communication skills with the ability to communicate to the customer and with major suppliers.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Manages employees performing engineering and technical activities in the area of Electrical Power and Electrical Subsystems Engineering.
  • Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets team goals aligned to program priorities.
  • Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements.
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports.
  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes.
  • Manages, develops and motivates employees.
  • Manages team Cost Accounts.

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Top Secret clearance Post Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.
  • 2+ years of experience in an engineering leadership role (either as a lead or a manager).
  • 5+ years of experience in Aircraft Electrical Power Systems engineering.
  • 3+ years of experience working with Suppliers.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Active Top Secret Security Clearance.
  • Experience mentoring, coaching, guiding, and leading teams.
  • 3+ years of experience communicating across organizations with suppliers and leadership.
  • 3+ years of experience in an FAA certification project.
  • 3+ years of experience in electrical power subsystems equipment management.

Relocation:

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

TX only: Boeing Support Systems (BSS) relocation plan is available for internal candidates based on candidate eligibility.

This is a 1st shift position.
